My Flying Pagosa has another brother!.....kinda......While perusing your List, I noticed that Flying Oak and Flying Moorea had had TWO litters. Pagosa and sibling, Flying Wolfcreek (now called Wolfie), born in 2001. And a previous litter of seven pups in 1999. One of those pups is Flying Lynch (now called Lynch). I believe that I gave you an incorrect right ear tatoo for Freeride Pear's entire litter. This is the tatoo that came with his paperwork from Regap and I simply entered it in, but the age of all the dogs in the surrounding litters is way off - most of them are in the Rainbow Bridge list. He is a brindle and the first digit is in a dark area - I suspect that it is a 9, but I will call NGA on Monday afternoon and find out. Please accept my appologies for the bad data - I'm hoping to hear from some of Pear's littermates as there is something wrong with his eyes. He was a special needs adoption - we are still trying to find out what is wrong with them, it may be pannus or it may be metabolic. Pear is going down to "Metro-Vet" in Phila a week from Wednesday to see a specialist about it. I'm hoping that when we find out what it is and if it is genetic, we'll be able to pass on any knowledge that we get to his littermates new families. Of course something communicable that he picked up somewhere wouldn't be relevant...

Last summer I had to let my beautiful, sweet, cantankerous, perfect girl Style go. A month after her 12th birthday she started limping and her vet completely blindsided me with the news that it was cancer and the prognosis was the worst. We hung on for a month after that terrible day but I started getting the sad sense that Style was holding on for me. But this isn't meant to be sad. A month after Style crossed the bridge we visited GPA Orlando to find a companion for our second hound Daisy (whom we adopted as a stray in 2001.) Instead of the young boy I thought I wanted we found Pharaoh, an 8-year-old fawn who had just been released from the farm. This is all a long way of saying the latest adoption introduced me to the whole greyhound search process. I have subsequently found Style's pedigree and have learned that our goofy Daisy is actually ex-racer Travelin Belle, who ran 180 races in Tampa and St. Pete before finding her way to us. And, if ear marks are to be believed, Pharaoh is champion stud and runner John Edward Dash, sire of 55 pups and a Grade A champ in Palm Beach. This site and other greyhound search tools are the closest thing I've found to having my sweet animals reveal their stories to me. If anyone has any info on siblings of any of my greys (Style: 27437, 33E; Daisy (Travelin Belle): 60671, 76A; Pharaoh (John Edwards Dash: 65904, 57F) I would be thrilled to learn about it.

We adopted BB's Earlytorise from Plainfield early in May. It was the Saturday before the closing of that track. I am very interested in finding any littermates, especially her brother BB's Makes a Man. Our "babys'" new name is Nellie. I could not find what I am looking for. When an adoption takes place of a retired racin greyhound, I think all medical records should be given in case there is a need for a Vet to look at. I am been looking for the records of Shers Mohawk. I have finally found the previous owner after much research and will contact her. I have been told that the original owner doesn't even know what dogs she/he owns. They only care how much money the dog can bring in. Is this true?? The one I adopted is so sweet and well mannered, I just can't believe that owners of these animals don't take the time to know their dogs.

Just visited your site today and have added my hound (Bevs Bohica - Bo) and his litter (88215). He's a four year old recently adopted thru Greyhound Friends of North Carolina. I found his brother (Bevs Kavorkian-Corky) in Easley, SC thru some searching I did on my own. There were a total of 10 in his litter with half of them racing in Florida, the other half in Texas. Racing records were incomplete but I've found a bunch of additional races he ran and did well. Have not had a change to add them to the Greyhound Data site yet. Also found a few video clips from Jacksonville of him in action which was a thrill. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog Champion. He was a beautiful creature. I always thought of him like a human - he was funny, happy and even a little jealous. One of the funniest memories was when I wanted to see him run and we drove around for hours in extreme heat and ended up 5 minutes from home where he ran for 20 seconds. He was always so excited when we came to visit. Lou Lou would follow him around the park and he was her first friend. He was priviledged to have such a loving family and he gave so much to them. I adopted K's Wings, now Gracie, in October 2003. I'd love to find out what happened to her littermates, if possible. I know that one of her sisters was adopted in Michigan but that's all I know. Her sire was Fortress and her dam was Tm's Honor Roll. She was born in July of 1999. Whether or not we can meet her siblings again, doesn't matter. I would just like to see where they all ended up. Another reunion that I have had with one of our Greys is Sally with her half-brother, Rio. Although the two have not met yet with the amount of distance, Rio's mom, Cindy Jamieson and I have met twice and, again, I have a very dear friend. Thanks to Vicky and her efforts with this website, our Henry and one of his littermates, Andre, were reunited last year. They were born in 1990. Sadly soon after their reunion, Andre passed to the Bridge and Henry followed him a few months later. It was wonderful to see the two old guys together and I will treasure the photos I have of them. Thru this effort, I have made a dear friend who I probably would have never met...Andre's mom, Jan Kraft. Funny how we ended up living within 45 minutes of each other. This reunion was met for a purpose and I am so glad that I took advantage of it and, again, thanks to Vicky!

I met Shannon at a chocolate festival in Az and also found Swaboda (Lula's) litter mate Changelosi. We both were so excited and I would love to find all of her litter mates. Hi, my name is Hannah and I have signed the guest book before, but I am resigning to give an update. We are now adopting or third grey. Another Greys Statesman grey. More Importantly, a littermate to one of my greys. I adopted Kt's Winnersonly, now known as Incredible 93061 and Bets On Mike 83380 and now Bets On Matt 83380. Four out of the six were adopted one is coming to the website above when she retires from racing. (so Check it out). And the other sibling Bets On Timberly is at the Rainbow Bridge. She broke her neck while out at play. Bets On Alicia is adopted and in, VA Bets on Carrie is adopted but I haven't gotten in touch with them yet. Bets On Whitney is the one still racing.

Thank you for such a fabulous web site! We adopted a male and female greyhound about 4 months ago. They are both about 6 years old. We first learned about greyhounds when we were stationed in Washington state with the Air Force in the early 90's-we were from Pennsylvania and had never heard of racing greyhounds. One week the local paper did a big article on how many greyhounds are breed to race each year, and how they only race a few years and then many were terminated. But, there were many adoptin programs being developed to save these precious pets. The story made my heart cry and we thought about adopting for 10 years, and when our previous dogs died at age 13 and 14 this past year, we followed through with it. Our kids now are 13 and 7, and these dogs are perfect companions for them! "Wacco" the male just loves hanging out with the kids-his tale is always wagging-and he is so happy! "Sly" the female, is shy but so loving. She lets my girl dress her up in all sorts of crazy outfits and doesn't mind one bit. I have been finding their race history on the websites and am so glad to have came accross yours! I really hope we can contact their littermates-I would love for them to have a reunion. Thanks again! Hi, New site is great, terrific work. One tiny error that I noticed on my guy A.J.'s Minto Flats L.E. Tattoo 31134 his call name is Stretch. His entry says Stretch's. Just a minor thing. Your comment about the NGA's help and how the greyhound people really care about their dogs is refreshing as there are good people in the industry. Many times litters and partial litters are together from birth to the track and are only split up at the onset of retirement. Great idea. I will share this site with our adoption group.
